Maintaining dynamics
Keeping a mix dynamic without peaking above spec can be challenging, especially when dealing with something as impactful as a game trailer.
A transparent limiter such as ISL can be indispensable in this situation. Plus, ISL’s True Peak functionality prevents any inter-sample peaks from slipping through the net.
Violent, aggressive fun
"The video game world is a pretty aggressive if not violent world, and I gotta say it's kind of fun to be creating sound for that."
Making the listener believe
"It can sound like anything, as long as you're seeing the image and you're hearing the sound and you believe that they belong together."
Limiting you can trust
When it comes to limiters, "the ISL is probably the one I gravitate to the most often… it is basically on my master output of every project that I do."
"When we get a specification that says, you know, your True Peak can be at a -2.0dB, they don't mean a -1.9dB."
