This page details the data that collect, how and why we collect it, how we handle and use that data, and your rights concerning that data.
The data we collect
We store data that you enter on our website, including your email address, name, what files you download and what licenses you own. We also store details of when you have used your licenses and some data that you enter on third party payment websites (e.g. PayPal and WorldPay) - we do not store any credit card details. We also store information about web links you click to visit our website. We also store details of your interactions with us by email or support ticket.
We also sometimes receive data from third-party organisations when they have received your consent for this.
How we collect data
Most of our data is collected when you take an action on our website (e.g. filling in a form with your email address in it, or purchasing a product) - this includes the storing of 'cookie' data in your browser.
Why we collect data
The purpose of our data collection is to provide you with the best possible service and products, and to function smoothly as a software developer and publisher. We use the data to help us know how best to communicate with you, how best to help with any support queries you might have, and to store information about the licenses you have bought from us.
For the purposes of the GDPR we are a 'Data Controller'. Some of the data is handled under the lawful basis of 'legitimate interest' (e.g. licenses you own, payment transactions, email and support interactions with you). Some of the data is handled under the lawful basis of consent: when you create an account on our website with your email address you consent to us storing that email, and you interactions with our website. If you delete your account from our website then we take that to be a withdrawal of your consent and delete that data.
How we handle data
All access to the data we handle is behind a password barrier, and all interactions with our website are through secure protocols.
We will never share individual data with third-parties, unless it is to provide a service to you (e.g. storing of iLok licenses you might have purchased, communicating with you via email) - or unless it is required by law. We will never sell individual data.
The use of anonymous data
Sometimes we use information provided by you to create anonymous statistical and demographic data. This anonymous data helps NUGEN Audio to understand and know its customer base better. That anonymous data may be provided to third parties but never in such a fashion as to identify you personally.
Your rights
You have a right to see what data related to you we hold. You have the right to request amendments to the data related to you. You also have the right to have all data stored related to you under the lawful basis of consent to be deleted. If you wish to exercise any of these rights, or if you have any questions about this policy, please email support@nugenaudio.com.
If you have any complaints about our handling of data related to you, please let us know at support@nugenaudio.com. You are also entitled to complain at the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office.
